Halloween -- Trick or Treat?

I've long been meaning to write however, I just started my new home-based job so I am reading a lot of modules and training materials to better equip me to face the challenges ahead.

September will be over in a couple of minutes [maybe it will be over even before I publish this post]. As early as the first week of this month, as I was doing my usual mall rounds [ha!] I've seen the usual Halloween stuff. Ah, these retail stores are gearing up for the Halloween as early as September (?) I though, do we really celebrate Halloween as they do in other countries? I'm not talking about the visiting of the departed dearly beloveds armed with flowers, candles and what-have-yous. I am referring to the commercialized aspect of Halloween -- attending costume parties here and a li'l of trick-and-treat there, you get my drift? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against going to parties and dressing up as what - a vampire? LOL. fairies, princess, witch, ghouls and sometimes even superheroes. In fact, back then, we will always dress up and have a family reunion with a Halloween theme!

I remember, as a child I always ended up with the wicked witch costume, while I love the black polish and the goth make-up [not to mention, I can easily get away with my antsy and bratty attitude], as a kid I would like to experience dressing up as a dainty, li'l princess or fairy! But I've come to terms with the idea that I may not be too dainty to be that all sugar-y sweet character/s! Ah, bitterness sucks! :P

Nowadays Halloween is highly commercialized and overrated! It would be nice if we spend this season with friends and family [with our departed loved ones] to party  to remember them or to just simply pray for the repose of their souls instead to partying with some random colleagues who are just really backstabbing strangers!

Anyhoo, below are the displays and other Halloween stuff of some famous malls.

The usual 'hideous' masks

Below is a photo of li'l witches from last year's Halloween party.

Ah! I remember my childhood costume! lol.

With this, I wish you all a spooky Halloween! ^_^

A Weekend of Laughing, Babies & Stories

I keep on forgetting that I should be posting something here in my own blog -- it is just so easy to blog hop and read what everyone else wrote. Sometimes Oftentimes, I am just so engrossed reading other people's blogs, their opinions on food, fashion, new gadgets, make up, what they have to say on the most latest movie/s or where they travel [I think I can go an entire day sticking up my nose on other people's life - or in this case, cyber world! HAHA]

Anyhoo, I love easy and light Saturdays with a lot of laughing, goofing around and story-telling. Yes you guessed it right, I spent my weekend over with my BFFs and visited the family [aside from our own] that has been close to our hearts. I missed them a a whole bunch as it seems we haven't seen each other since forever. Ever since we graduated from college, we have been perennially busy and so, what used to be the every-Friday-date turned to be twice every month to once a month and been recently down to every two months or worse, quarterly. Haist.

But on to the good news...  We went somewhere in Rizal and visit the minions.. err, babies of Ate Y. The firstborn is already almost 2yrs old and we well I, still haven't seen them again, in person that is. We chatted, gossiped, laughed and throw jokes at each other as if we've seen each other only yesterday. It's good that we can be apart for a long time and yet when we get-together, it seems that time was never really lost. Ah, good friends!

Here are some of the photos I took...
She is tiny and looks so fragile.
She's a breech baby, the reason her mom delivered her via CS.

Ain't she a cute li'l bundle?
The following photos are of the camera-loving li'l boy.

This is the first time we met and when I whip out my camera, he gave a ready face. LOL

A popcorn lover. Yay!

Aww.. his 'pity-me-look' when you won't give him iced tea.
Look at those chubby cheeks.. so cute.. was able to pinch 'em! Ha!
The gist: We played with Ethan [who looks more like a toddler than a 1.5 yr old babe that he is]. We had mini photo shoot courtesy of my uber photographer friend, Jo! 'Twas fun being with your closest friends and the babies! Yay!

photo taken by Jo, swiped from his Facebook

Hoping for a weekend getaway, this time let's hit the beach again! Ah, can't remember the last time we went out of town! [Our trip to Anawangin, Zambales doesn't count as it was just a day trip! Boo!]

BTW, allow me to share my portrait of the day.. please be kind to my bare, makeup-less face, I had this taken after a long and tiring day without re-touch! lol

hah! I think I need to learn makeup lessons.
Maybe I should attend the lessons this Saturday, eh?

How's your [last] weekend? Sending some weekend love.. Oh! It's almost weekend again! haha

My Silver Anniversary on Earth

Hello, I just turned 25..

Unlike all those who jotted down a list of to do things since they turned 25, I will list down things I have accomplished before I reached my silver year.. and hopefully I will be able to enumerate 25 things (otherwise, I will just have to add to my list before I reach my golden years.. heehee)

So, on to the list..

1. Graduated from college (this is really included!)

2. Was able to find a job (2 at that!)

3. Earned my own money (but doesn't necessarily mean I was able to save much. BOO!)

4. Had an article published in our corporate newsletter in I**. ;o)

5. Became a C.R.I.B.S volunteer for a day

6. Started an online blog

7. Kept a planner and religiously jot down my usually chaotic schedule and other stuff in my everyday life.

8. Changed my hair color.

9. Pampered my feet and hands every 2weeks (to a month, if I'm kinda lazy)

10. Experienced the painful art of waxing and got hooked! (I'm no masochist, but I like being free from shaving-induced cuts and nicks)

11. Cried while having my brows threaded.

12. Cried over sappy love stories (yep I used to have a heart of stone - unmoved, unfeeling and apathetic)

13. Vacation with my BFFs (Baguio, Zambales, is Antipolo included? hehe)

14. Team buildings and company parties (ah, I feel like a grown up!)

15. Falling in love (and having someone to catch me.. )

16. Discovering who are real and who are pretentious hypocrites.

17. Theme parks (just to have fun and feel like a kid..again)

18. Visited museums to discover our heritage, reconnect with the past in order to appreciate the present.

19. Visited science centers/exhibits to be awed by the 'new world' and other wonders.

20. Visited old churches (in NCR, Cavite, and the really old ones in Ilocos Norte)

21. Went on road trips with zee boyfie (Subic, Baguio, Antipolo, Taytay Rizal, Ilocos Norte, Pagudpud and hoping to cover more so we can discover more from each other as we discover more of our beautiful country).

22. Bought my Red Canon Ixus 100is (from my own earnings.. no more pestering my mom for new 'toys').

23. Bought my new baby, the Pink ASUS Eee PC Seashell (1005P).

24. Read financial books (and other self-help books, like 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad, 'The Money Diet', and Camilla Morton's 'A Year in High Heels)

A Year in High Heels  Rich Dad Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money-That the Poor and the Middle Class Do Not!

25. Attended and will attend more, events (such as the events from Belle de Jour.. and hopefully, events sponsored by others too! *wink*)

Geez, I've hit my numbers already.. and I have more things to write such as 'bought shake for officemate/s', rode a Calesa/Caritella', 'played at arcades (I used to hate it when I was a kid, because of the noise)','started my online scrapbook/photobook', 'went inside the horror house in a theme park (and drove me crazy!)', 'attended a non-Catholic Bible study (which I enjoyed and learned a lot from)' and oh, 'I RESIGNED!' and tons of other fun and not-so-fun stuff that happened the past 20something years in my life.

I am ever grateful to God for giving me this wonderful gift of life and granting me an opportunity to enjoy it and learn from it's experiences.. to my Mom, who at times might not feel that I appreciate her enough (but believe me, I do, and I think I will include 'be vocal about my feelings' in my personal To-do list, so I can include it in my 30 accomplished lists someday).. to my craziest and wackiest, but ever loyal friends whom I can just be me, say things I want and who kicks my ass when I do something wrong but will comfort me when I am so feeling down.. to my brother, with whom I always fight with but whom I can share anything about.. to my bestest and loving friend & boyfriend, G, who is supportive and understanding - with you, I don't need to pretend I am an ideal and a superwoman girl - I can just be my bitchy, arte but sweet self! LOL

..and to others - who stayed or maybe, just passed by in my life.. you all made my 25 years of existence colorful and is a part of who I am today. Cheers!

Topsey Turvey Ride [Delayed Posting]

Howdy folks?

I have had a lot of things going on -- did a lot of things, visited different places but I'm not able to blog it. You see I'm a photoholic, I love showing uploading photos instead of posting photo-less boring article. I have tons of pictures in my multiply site, call me narcissistic if you must, but that's me! [Fine, maybe I'm just being lazy-uh or whatever!]

Anyhoo, last December 8, I went out with zee boyfie and off we went to Mall of Asia for our pre-monthsary [is there even such a thing?!] date.

Then we went to the Global Fun Carnival [a.k.a Eurostar Carnival] and I so looove their Ferris Wheel where I get a good view of the Metro, err, more like the side of Manila Bay. lol. We went inside attractions after attractions such as Pirates and Jurrasic. I'm not really a fan of those haunted house-like features wherein staff in ghoulish attires randomly jump out at you, literally, and give you a heart attack! [scares the hell outta me!] Zee boyfie wanted to ride the Ranger, the one that makes a full 360-degree turn. Geesh, I turned green just looking at the stomach-hurling ride. Instead, I suggested we ride Flipper first since it doesn't flip our stomach upside down. Lady luck must be on my side tonight as after the Flipper ride he felt sick that he didn't feel going in for another innards-flipping adventure. hahaha
source: google images
Sneaky me took two shots of him unknowingly! [well, he actually saw it but is oblivious. lol]

G: 'Wait lang, let me sit for awhile, umiikot ang mundo ko' [my world's spinning] *Barf*
{eewww..}

PS: Well he didn't actually said those but it's fun to add dialogue ahaha.. but he did puke!

He was seeing doubles after the Flipper ride! [there goes our ride-all-you-can tickets]

So for now, I think we won't be going anywhere near a carnival yet! Dang!

What a day! Sending some love,

Nostalgia

I've been browsing my Friendster Blog (to re-read the entries I've typed in and also because I am feeling kinda senti!) when I chanced upon this entry last December '06.. I still feel this way even if it's more than a year since graduating from college.

Read on..
WARNING: Not for the faint hearted-- too serious to handle!!

Gosh, i can't believe i'm working now... it's like only yesterday that we are loitering around PLM's campus and discussing our projects or creating a plot or even 'squeezing ourselves like a lemon' just so we could produce an answer to the brain-draining and nose-bleeding crisis of pr.. hehehe..

but now, i'm here in an airconditioned room, in front of a computer and should be sending emails to customers, but is actually typing this article for a personal blog. teehee ^_^

i miss all the times wherein we would just sit under one shed or on the grass and looking (and scrutinizing) everything and everyone we see.. sharing stories, giggling and just having fun... as if nothing's the matter.. and we're not beating every subject's deadlines!!

it's just now that it's sinking into my system that college life's over.. the virtual reality had passed, i'm now playing in the real game called -- LIFE!

now i'm telling myself, in college when we fail an exam or recitation, we can always make it up next time. but in this reality game, we can never have the same exact scenario, there'll be no next time-- we can only have experiences gained and lessons learned..

but no matter what, i know i have my family and friends to help me hurdle the obstacles that'll come my way, who'll slow me down when i'm running too fast and who'll pick me up when i stumble..

"may ganung factor??.. nagdadrama!!"

This entry transcends me through time! I know, we (my closest college friends) make it a point to
meet every weekends or at least twice a month.. but still it's very different from what it used to
be way back in college -where we have everyday of our college life to talk, laugh at goof around- today, we don't have the luxury of time to do that anymore (and i guess, there never will be) that is why aside from Friday night gimiks we also plan (a very looooong planning indeed- which entails, synchronizing scheds, scheduling office leaves and other what tos?!) a long weekend trip to a place away from the rat-race in Makati (Lheng & I) or Manila (Pau & Hapi), in hope that we can find solace and seek comfort from each other -while ranting our frustrations and sharing our goals and being excited and glad on each other's achievements and accomplishments.

Gosh, I am just so freakin' melodramatic.. I think I can write a tear-jerking script- but then again maybe not!

PS: I just came from our weekend getaway at Hapi's place in Antipolo. We actually have the gal to swim and defy typhoon Egay's wrath.

*No Egay! you can't stop us! Rain or shine if our mind is set in doing it.. do it we will! haha... -yeah, we're that stubborn.. or atleast I think, we are ;)

It's fun and we've got tons and tons of photos.. ÜÜÜ

Hows your day going? Are you missing someone dear too?

hugs n kisses

Fun-filled Day

We always make it a point to dine out every Friday of the week, just to personally fill in on each other's life -work and love (or the lack of it) or allot an entire day for each other. It's not just tetê-a-tetê that we do.. We just loove to eat, and eat we do! We're just soo damn lucky it doesn't show!

be green with envy .. LOL

The rundown: Had luch at our fave (at least mine) pizza parlour, Carlo's Pizza- where I soo love the non-greasy-melt-in-your-mouth pizza; then talked and throw jokes on each other; then watched Ratatoullie while   rolling our eyes over the uncivilized being who can't help but repeat to his companion what is being shown on the big screen! Duh?! I wonder if he woorks for a radio station (probably a dubber - ay nagluluto yung daga, hahaha nabunggo yung bike) hallaer! it's like we can see it naman?! Some people are just so whatevah!!

Then, had a guilty pleasure dessert at Chocolat. I had the sinfully delicious Bailey's Cake

AHA Hapi! Sira ang South Beach diet! ahehe Lagot kami kay Abba!

Hapi: Guilty!

PS: I loove the animation and the story even if it's just so gross seing a cooking-rat-infested-four star-restaurant.

Ratata,

Witnessing a DocuFest ala iWitness

This day I was excited to meet up with lheng and watch iWitness' Docufest @ SM Manila Cinema. This was just like way back in college (it's not that long ago though I really miss watching the shows. I'm having a hard time catching even just an episode due to my current erratic schedule.)

I thought that the cinema will be half-empty (talk about pre-conceived notions! haha.. it's just that, before documentaries are..uh..well, not appreciated in a country were the mass favored the movie with the latest 'it boy or girl' rather than the socially-relevant films.)

Anywei, my fave was the episode of Kara David, wherein she featured two girls with a rare illness that lets their body grow old at a very faster rate than normal (it's physically obvious as well). This story is very heart-warming, to think that personally I don't like stories or issues wherein the topic is a rare disease or something just to pinch the heart of the audience, but this one is different, I can feel the sincerity.. or maybe it was done nicely (oh well, it's their job to 'capture' the audience!)

Kudos to the scriptwriter and to Kara for being not an overly dramatic host. (may puso pero hindi OA to the point that I might want to just puke sa ka-plastikan LOL! Ü)

PS: After this docufest thingie, I then rushed somewhere up north coz I'm meeting up with a friend and we'll catch a movie.

How's your day doing?

Camera Whoring

These were some of the photos taken just right after shift. We all still have the energy to smile for the camera. (can't help it!) These were my colleagues from IBM.

Pardon my lack of descriptive words, I'm not actually in the mood to paint vivid pictures in your minds as to what was happening behind those shots. wehehe..

eto pa o!
